2015 was one very busy year for Miss Kylie Jenner. And while she sounds perky when we chat with her, it’s clear that Kylie’s tired. We’re not surprised…
Moved out of the family home in June into her very own LA pad, turned 18 (with one major celeb-filled bash and that birthday cake – in the shape of her own perfect pout of course). And then to add that, she went public with on-off boyfriend rapper, Tyga, 26, at the MTV Video Music Awards and even starred in one of his music videos, proving they were very much a couple – despite their eight-year age gap. Keeping up?
And then there’s the little matter of her new website, her own beauty line, fronting a major beauty campaign for skincare label Nip + Fab as part of her role of brand ambassador and overtaking sister Kendall to become the most-followed Jenner on Instagram, sharing snaps of her enviably toned body and flawless selfies with 45.1m followers. Watch out Kim.
We managed to find a slither of time in Kylie’s exceptionally busy schedule to talk style, New Year’s resolutions and her ultimate inspiration…
Hi Kylie, Last time we spoke you were determined to get healthy, how is that going?
Er, not so good.
Have you made any new year’s resolutions?
Probably just to work out and be healthy. Maybe I’ll get a treadmill in my house or something. I mean I’ll try to eat good and go on walks. Maybe hiking.
Our readers consider you a bit of a body icon. Is that something you’re proud of?
I am proud of that. I’ve gained some weight but I like it. I just want to be healthy y’know?
You’re known for a your ever changing style, where do you get your inspiration?
I think my sister Kim and [her husband] Kanye have great style and the people around them really inspire me. Kim really inspires my [make-up look] – she inspires me the most. But other than that I don’t really have anyone I get inspiration from. I just like to be organic and just be me. I’m really into self-expression and whoever I’m feeling that day.
Do you still work with a stylist?
I do work with a stylist but when it comes to my look, it’s pretty much all me. It just helps [to have one] because I can’t exactly go out and shop when I have like 50 cameras following me.
What beauty product could you not live without in the new Nip+Fab range?
Probably the Dragon’s Blood Plumping Fix Serum, £19.95. I’m kind of obsessed with it. It’s like a primer. I like to use it as a primer as it’s thin and easy [to smooth on]. I also like using the Kale Fix moisturizer [£19.95].
Do your sisters ever rifle through your make-up bag?
I mean, yeah, all the time. We’re all girls and we still steal from each other regularly.
You’ve been so busy over the past year, are you going to try and find time for a holiday?
Erm, I had some days off for the holidays and I have some days off soon hopefully!
