Kylie Minogue has treated fans to a very special pressie on the day of her 45th birthday (today!) and it comes gift-wrapped in the form of a brand new pop tune called Skirt.
The sexy song is Kylie’s first musical offering since signing with Jay Z‘s Roc Nation label in Febuary, and was co-written with Beyonce and Rihanna hit maker The Dream. Featuring the flawless singer’s trademark breathy vocals singing racy lyrics such as “and then my skirt came down” over grimy dubstep beats, it’s clear that while those gold hotpants may have been packed up, Kylie’s sex appeal most certainly hasn’t.
LA-based dance producer Nom De Strip, aka Chris Elliott, leaked the song online by posting a remix of the track on music sharing site SoundCloud (listen to it here!) after it was aired in Ibiza. “Chris Lake dropped the dub version of Skirt, my track with Kylie Minogue at Pacha Ibiza!” he wrote on Facebook earlier today.
Minogue meanwhile has been swapping birthday cake and party poppers for some serious studio time, posting on Instagram this morning: “Might be my birthday but I’m still working #studio”. The singer’s been busy down under working with fellow Australian Sia, as well as Rodney Jerkins, Pharrell Williams and Lady Gaga producers Red One and Fernando Garibay for what will be her twelfth album, which is due for release later this year.
A huge happy birthday to the gorgeous Miss Minogue from all of us at LOOK. And what better way to celebrate than to take a peek at Kylie’s amazing fashion evolution over the years?! Go on, you know you want to…
