Kim Kardashian Wins Webby Award For Breaking The Internet

Kim Kardashian has won the first EVER Break The Internet Award at the 2016 Webby Awards, for her ‘unparalleled success online.’

Her husband Kanye also won an award, taking home Artist Of The Year.

We can’t help but wonder why they didn’t dedicate an Epic Twitter Rant Of The Year Award to him…

The people behind Kim’s Special Achievement award have revealed that the gong was created to acknowledge Kim’s ‘bold and creative’ use of the Internet.

Well, we can’t really argue with that one. The mum-of-two boasts 70 million Instagram followers and 45 million Twitter followers, and those numbers seem to grow by the day!

Kim famously ‘broke the internet’ with that Paper Magazine cover in 2014, and then again more recently with a naked mirror selfie around the time of International Women’s Day.

Kim famously caused controversy after sharing the very NSFW selfie, showcasing her totally nude body with only some black bars to protect her modesty.

This move resulted in quite a bit of criticism from fellow stars, including Bette Midler and Chloe Moretz. However, Kim appears to have used her award-win as an opportunity to hit back.

Winners at the Webby Awards are only allowed five words in their acceptance speech, but the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star used hers wisely.

Stepping up in her in her Vivienne Westwood gown, she silenced the haters, proclaiming, ‘Nude selfies till I die.’

Whilst not everyone would agree with her statement, we say: just keep doing you, Kim.

It seems to be working out quite well for her, after all…
