People are up in arms about a 'disgusting' Halloween costume doing the rounds on the Internet, depicting Kim Kardashian bound and gagged after her terrifying Paris robbery...
There are some things you just don’t joke about, and that’s a woman – and mother – getting tied up at gunpoint as five masked gunmen raid her apartment in the middle of the night.
Yet somehow, some people are still finding humour in Kim Kardashian being robbed in Paris last week. And the latest ‘joke’ being made about the star’s horrific ordeal comes in the form of an ill-judged Halloween costume.
Costumeish.com has decided to design a costume called ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume Kit’, depicting a brunette woman bound and gagged, and wearing a huge diamond ring.
Whilst the site hasn’t specifically named Kim, fans of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star have been left incensed at the distasteful design – and the blurb that accompanies it.
‘This Halloween it’s all about the #Hallomeme and who better than America’s goddess of all things glamorous “Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume?”‘, it reads.
‘She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewellery and her peace of mind.
‘This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of Social media with our sensational “Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume” Costume.’
We have no words.
But people on Twitter and their website did, with many branding it ‘offensive’ and ‘disgusting’.
‘How dare you. This is disgusting and so wrong on every level. Lost my faith in humanity once more’, one person slammed on the comments section.
‘She is somebody’s wife, mother, daughter, and sister. And you’re making what happened to her into a joke? Disgusting’, another wrote.
Whilst a third tweeted: ‘So first this tragedy was turned into a joke, then it became her fault and NOW its a costume? When does Kim get peace?’
We couldn’t agree more. This victim-shaming has to stop, because we’re definitely not laughing.
