Khloe Kardashian isn’t one to shy away from the truth. And her latest interview is particularly raw.
Taking the cover of Harper’s Bazaar, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has opened up about a pretty dark time in her life, and also made a heartbreaking admission about her body.
After the breakdown of her marriage to Lamar Odom, she started to workout every day. Khloe exlplained, ‘My home was dark and toxic. At the time, my family didn’t know what I was going through. It was the biggest secret I’ve kept. I just needed a place to go.’
The 31-year-old stated that before she embarked on her fitness journey – which she’s previously dubbed her ‘revenge body’ – stylists would refuse to work with her, favouring her sisters instead.
Khloe explained to the publication, ‘Other people actually said, “I just can’t work with you” – because I was too big. That always hurt my feelings.’
We can totally imagine, KK.
Khloe has remained loyal to the same stylist, Monica Rose, since the very first season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E!, but she believes that she has received so much more attention since her body has changed.
She told Harper’s: ‘I definitely think the fashion industry, and people in general, look at me more now that I’ve lost weight.’
To think that someone can be treated so differently just because of their body type is so disappointing.
Right now, Khloe seems more confident than ever, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t experience her share of trolling on social media. Sigh.
Like the rest of us, the Kardashian sister admitted, ‘What’s sad is that I can read 10 beautiful comments and then one bad one and I’m like, “Ugh!”‘
It seems clear that, stardom or not, every woman is open to body-scrutiny. And we feel it has to stop.
