So in case you missed it, something very weird was happening on Katy Perry’s Twitter account last night.
Months after her well-publicised feud with Taylor Swift had died down, the Dark Horse singer only went and tweeted her rumoured pop rival last night.
‘Miss u baby @TaylorSwift13’, read the unexpected message from Katy to Swifty. Hang on, what?!
As we all know, the pair have had their issues over their years after Katy allegedly tried to steal a load of Taylor’s backing dancers. And since then, some thinly veiled tweets from both stars have alluded to the fact there may have been a fallout.
So why was Katy saying she missed Swift?! Well, all became clear once it was obvious that Katy’s account had been hacked, as a string of odd tweets followed, with someone even spouting profanities from the megastar’s account.
Even worse, the hacker then tweeted a link to a leaked SoundCloud song supposedly by Katy Perry, which was soon taken down by Universal Music Group due to copyright claims. Eep.
The messages have since been deleted, including the one to Taylor, and Katy has since returned to the social media platform – onlly, she’s refusing to acknowledge the hack.
‘Yes! Thank you to the heroes we’ve lost and still serving! We appreciate you and honor you today!’ read her only tweet from yesterday to acknowledge the US memorial day.
Despite being one of the world’s biggest social media platforms, this is yet another example that not even Twitter is totally security safe – fellow big-hitters on Twitter such as Justin Bieber, Lea Michele, and Britney Spears have also been hacked.
