The former X Factor star has spoken out for the first time since her Celebrity Big Brother exit interview...
Katie Waissel has made her first appearance since being evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, taking a spot on the This Morning sofa.
The former X Factor star came seventh in the CBB series (which she says is her lucky number, having made it to the very same spot in the talent competition) losing the public vote and just missing out on a spot in the final.
Now, you’ll probably remember that Christopher Biggins was removed from the house for making ‘a number of comments capable of causing great offence.’
And you’ll also probably remember that one of these comments was aimed in the direction of Katie Waissel, who comes from a Jewish family.
In a post-exit interview, the entertainer said of his controversial comment: ‘Most of my friends, in fact, are Jewish. I apologised to Big Brother and Katie.’
When quizzed on the moment on today’s ITV show, Katie seemed a little confused.
She revealed to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: ‘I don’t even know what happened. I was concerned that something happened with his family.’
She added: ‘They didn’t tell us anything. I’ve got my reading to do.’
Turning attention back to her eviction, she said she has no regrets but also insisted that she’s ‘really, really happy to go.’
On eviction night, she told Emma Willis why she believed she’d lost her place: ‘The only reason I can think of is because my character wasn’t as strong as the others, but I’m so happy to have experienced this.’
We loved watching you, Waissel.
