Kate Middleton‘s first official portrait has been unveiled today.
The picture was painted by artist Paul Emsley and took several months to create, using thin layers of various oils and glazes on canvas. Amazing!
The Duchess Of Cambridge sat and posed for the artist on two separate occasions, and wears a navy blue shirt with a gorgeous pussy bow, diamond and sapphire earrings to match her engagement ring, with her famous brunette locks blow-dried to perfection.
The portrait will go on display this afternoon at London’s National Portrait Gallery, of which the Duchess is patron.
The artist said: “Everyone, I think, recognises her partly through her lovely hair.
“I’ve altered the colour of the eyes slightly to match the colour of the blouse and the blue background.”
