Kate Middleton seems like the perfect Duchess, right?
The 34-year-old is graceful, chic and (of course) a total beauty. But according to her, there’s one thing about her that’s a little un-royal.
Kate came clean in documentary Our Queen At 90 at the weekend, which gave us an insight into Queen Elizabeth II’s life as she prepares to celebrate her landmark birthday.
Turns out, Kate’s hubby Prince William and the rest of the Royal Family even take the mick out of her for this particular habit. Cheeky.
She said: ‘Everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting so I think I have still got to learn a little bit more and pick up a few more tips.’
Oh, Kate! We’re pretty sure we can let you off on that one.
Despite this, it’s clear that the mum-of-two has been warmly welcomed into the fold.
When talking about the Queen, Kate said: ‘She has been very generous and not, sort of, been forceful at all in any of her views. I feel she’s been there as a gentle guidance really for me.’ Aw.
Overall, Our Queen At 90 was actually pretty eye-opening.
Not only did it reveal Prince George’s adorable nickname for his great-grandmother (Gan-Gan), but also the surprising gift Kate once gave the queen for Christmas.
She told viewers: ‘I can remember being at Sandringham, for the first time, at Christmas. And I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present. I was thinking: “Gosh, what should I give her?”
‘I thought back to what would I give my own grandparents. And I thought: “I’ll make her something.” Which could have gone horribly wrong. But I decided to make my granny’s recipe of chutney.
‘I was slightly worried about it, but I noticed the next day that it was on the table.
‘I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me and I’ve noticed since she’s done that on lots of occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness, really, and her care in looking after everybody.’
Er. FAMILY GOALS.
