Kate Middleton could barely contain her grin as she presented Team GB’s Aled Davies with his gold medal at the Paralympics this weekend. Beaming with pride, the Duchess Of Cambridge – dressed in a smart navy suit teamed with her Team GB silk scarf from Next – awarded Aled with his prize after he won the Men’s Discus Throw.
Kate has been hugely supportive of our athletes throughout the Olympics and Paralympics, so her excitement comes as no surprise to us. Her spokesperson said it was a “happy coincidence” that the first prize she gave out was to a member of Team GB.
Shortly after his presentation, 21-year-old Aled tweeted: “Was lovely to meet the Duchess! Was an honor! Such a lovely person! Crazy to think I’m a Paralympic champion!”
We’d be pretty chuffed with a gold medal, but a meeting with the Duchess too? What a lucky guy. Congrats, Aled! RM
