Pregnant Kate Middleton will no longer attend tomorrow night’s London premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the Palace has announced.
The Duchess Of Cambridge has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe case of morning sickness, since last week. She has pulled out of all her formal public appearances, leaving Prince William to represent the royal couple at a number of charity events.
It’s understood that Kate, who is only in the very early stages of her pregnancy, will stay out of the public eye until she is fully recovered.
A spokesperson for the pair said: “‘The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend The Hobbit Premiere tomorrow evening and will continue to rest privately. The Duke of Cambridge will attend as planned.”
Prince William will join the likes of Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Martin Freeman and Cate Blanchett on the red carpet for the hotly-anticipated Lord Of The Rings prequel.
Rest up, Kate – we’e sure Wills can get the film on DVD for you… RM
