Kate Middleton has us on the edge of our seats in anticipation as we wait for the royal baby to arrive, but although it feels like an age since her original ‘due date’ came and went, new reports claim she’s actually due today!
The Duchess of Cambridge was expected to give birth last week, according to Prince Charles’ wife Camilla, but a royal source told The Telegraph we’ve all got it wrong. “A small number of staff at St Mary’s who might be called upon when the Duchess gives birth were told they had to remain teetotal for a month before the Duchess’s due date. They were told the due date was July 19, meaning they couldn’t drink from June 19 onwards.”
Crikey. It seems the palace runs a tight ship when it comes to the care of their much-awaited new arrival. Kate and Wills, however, seem to be more relaxed and taking it all in their stride. The 31-year-old mum-to-be is resting up at her parents’ home in Berkshire but has back-up plans in place just in case she goes in to labour while she’s in Bucklebury. We’re not sure how happy the swarm of paparazzi camped outside St Mary’s Lindo Wing will be if Kate gives birth in nearby Royal Berkshire hospital in Reading, but we’ll be jumping for joy either way.
Fingers crossed it’s this weekend. We’re not sure we can wait much longer!
