Andy Murray won the Wimbledon tennis final yesterday, scooping the cup for the second time after beating Milos Raonic in another blinding match.
And afterwards, the proud Scot was greeted by Prince William and Kate Middleton after leaving the court, with whom he was caught on camera enjoying a three minute conversation about his win.
Prince William kicked off by congratulating the Wimbledon champ on his win, telling Andy that he didn’t know how he managed such a feat on ‘no sleep’ (Andy and wife Kim Sears had their first child, Sophia, earlier this year).
He then added: ‘How is your daughter doing, alright? Is the family good?’
Andy replied by saying that she’d slept through ‘the last three nights’, before adding: ‘The first three months were tough but she’s five months now.’
Cute chat about fatherhood, eh?
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton was standing by William’s side not saying much – and was it just us, or did she seem extremely nervous?!
Yep, the Duchess of Cambridge, who we’re used to seeing meet and greet tonnes of important people on a daily basis, could barely look Murray in the eye. Perhaps she’s a secret Murray super fan? Either way, Twitter had a theory as to why…
‘Kate Middleton definitely wants a bit of Andy Murray #WimbledonFinals’, one viewer remarked.
‘Kate Middleton is SO Andy Murray’s type’, commented another.
Oh, guys. COME on. They’re both happily married to beautiful people… But still, the Duchess did seem a little starstruck! After a few moments, however, she soon joined in on the parenting chat.
‘Andy Murray and Kate Middleton taking about their babies is my favourite thing’, tweeted another viewer.
Aw. Congrats, Murray. And Kate, well done for holding it together!
