Justin Timberlake is set to release another album this year, hot on the heels of his third offering, The 20/20 Experience, which hit shelves yesterday.
The Roots drummer Questlove, who’s been performing alongside Justin, revealed the news in a post on hip-hop site Okayplayer.com. He describes the current album as “OVERLY ambitious. Like a LOT of ideas crammed into one,” then says: “spoiler alert. ’20/20 Vol 2′ comes out in Nov (10 songs now…..10 songs later= 20 vision)”. (sic)
Ooh, this is exciting.
The 20/20 Experience is Justin’s first album since 2006 and he’s already having huge success with his musical comeback. Mirrors reached the number one spot and the singer and is set to co-headline this summer’s Wireless festival in London with Jay-Z.
He confirmed Questlove’s comment is true while performing at his launch party in LA last night, saying: “I need to clear up a rumour”. He added that his new release is only “the first half of the album,” and said: “those rumours are true.”
Oh Justin, you do spoil us. We can’t wait! RM
