The singer has got *everyone* in a tizz after confessing he's up for a musical reunion with his very famous ex...
For anyone who grew up watching Britney Spears dance around in THAT shiny red catsuit, this could be the musical news you’ve been waiting for.
Fourteen years after pop’s original power couple parted ways, it seems like time really can heal everything as Justin Timberlake has revealed he’d love to collaborate with his former flame and singing superstar Britney Spears.
Let’s take a trip back to the 90’s, the days when Justin could be seen sporting a curly mop, Britney was still wearing her school uniform, and the pair were busy being everybody’s favourite childhood sweethearts.
Sadly love’s young dream only lasted 3 years and the the couple broke up in 2002, but three marriages and A LOT of music success later and all our Britney and Justin dreams could be answered.
During a fan Q&A for Most Requested Live with Romeo a few weeks ago, Britney, 34, was asked to reveal her dream collaborators, to which the star replied: “Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul and Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great.”
Before casually dropping the bombshell: “Justin Timberlake is very good.”
We tried to keep our cool following Brit’s confession, but when E! News asked Justin, 35, if he’d ever consider working with Britney on a song this week, we just couldn’t take it any more.
Despite missing Britney’s Q&A session, the Cry Me A River singer eagerly replied: “She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely,”
He then added: “I have a 17 month old so I don’t get the headline news. I apologise for not being in the know…I’m accessible, give us a call!”
Unsurprisingly the revelation drove everybody crazy, and some seriously excited fans took to Twitter to share their joy. One wrote: “Britney and Justin doing anything together is gonna be huge. Automatic #1 and then a performance together would be ICONIC.”
Whilst another one simply added: “So help me God if there’s a Justin and Britney collab”.
And one fan just said what we were all thinking: “I would seriously fall all over myself if Britney and Justin collaborated. Do it for the children (of the 90s) guys!”
Yes PLEASE do it for the kids of the 90s, a long with just about everybody else!
