Justin Theroux revealed that joker, Jimmy Kimmel, who officiated their wedding “cried a little bit” as he performed his duties. Addong it was “the biggest blessing in the world” for his mate to havve his close pal conduct the ceremony.
This follows Justin Theroux’s recent announcement that him and Jennifer will not be following tradition when it comes to surnames.
Speaking to Extra TV in the US, he joked: “I made her change both names, so now she’s Justin Theroux.” He then added: “I don’t think it would be great if she did. I think ‘Aniston’ is going to stick with her whether she likes it or not.” He’s not wrong there..
And while details of the wedding have been kept tightly under wraps, he went on to spill a few inside secrets of the newlywed’s honeymoon and their reasons for bringing along friends including Courteney Cox and Ellen Degeneres: “It was a fantastic honeymoon. We had thought about it; we could just do a normal honeymoon, or we could go with some friends, keep the party going, relax and have fun.”
Needless to say, the break at Bora Bora’s 5* Four Seasons Resort made for a pretty lavish affair.
As for the wedding itself, Justin Theroux recently got very honest that planning his own was actually quite stressful. Phew. It’s not just us then.
According to the The Leftovers star, having to keep the details of their wedding in August top secret took the excitement away. “I wouldn’t say it was fun to plan,” he told the New York Daily News.
The actor explains that “part of the fun of planning a wedding is telling people and we had to keep it under wraps.”
The pair married in a very private, secret ceremony at their Bel Air Mansion in August, with friends innocently believing they were arriving to celebrate his 44th birthday.
Poor Justin had clearly been feeling the pressure of keeping his mouth shut as he felt instant relief when the ceremony was over. “I noticed it almost immediately, it was like your blood pressure goes down to two PSI.”
Despite Justin’s initial stresses over the big day, he said recently how much he’s enjoying married life. “It’s nice to be able to look down and see a new piece of jewellery on my finger,” he said, opening up about his wedding for the first time.
He’s also revealed that being a husband ‘feels different’ but he’s ‘happy’. And when he returned to the set of his TV show The Leftovers, the crew ‘gave me a big cheer so it was wonderful.’ Nawww.
So everyone wants to know what Jen wore on the big day, right?
We recently thought we may have caught a glimpse of the actress’s gown when a photo emerged on Facebook of a woman (snapped from behind) wearing a stunning lace piece.
The photo was captioned: ‘You have my whole heart for my whole life. #weddingdress’ – but it later turned out to just be a model shot posted by someone pretending to be Jen. Boo.
But now we may ACTUALLY have laid our eyes on the real thing.
Four months ago, an episode of US show Say Yes To The Dress aired that showed a bride-to-be trying on a beautiful Mark Zunino number at New York’s Kleinfeld Bridal.
Unfortunately, it cost $8,400. So to convince her to make the purchase, the stylist told the lady in question: ‘I know the dress really well.
‘I actually picked this for Jen Aniston to wear on her wedding day. In my head this is Jennifer Aniston’s dress.’
Now. This doesn’t mean Jennifer actually WORE the gown. It’s more likely that Mark Zunino was asked to submit sketches and this one was one of his suggestions.
A representative for the designer tells Mail Online: ‘We can neither confirm nor deny that we designed the gown for Jennifer Aniston’s special day. We can confirm that we did do sketches of wedding dress options for her.’
So it’s not a definite no…
While we haven’t seen her dress, Jennifer did give us a glimpse of her ah-mazing wedding ring last week.
The actress made her first public appearance since getting hitched at the premiere of her new film She’s Funny That Way in LA on Wednesday.
She looked stunning on the red carpet, rocking a chic asymmetric black jumpsuit and her trademark glossy straight ‘do.
But it was the piece of bling on her left had that *really* got everyone talking. The gold ring features a diamond middle section – which perfectly matches her glowing honeymoon tan.
She also opened up about her big day for the first time, telling ET: ‘We had the beautiful luxury of having a beautiful private moment and I’m going to be selfish and keep it that way.’ Aw.
When asked what it’s like to call Justin Theroux her husband, she told E!: ‘It feels quite natural. He’s shooting The Leftovers in Austin [now].’
Jennifer and Justin rocked the world earlier this month with their surprise nuptials. After a three year enagagement, the pair finally tied the knot. And we’re so happy for them.
US celebrity news hub TMZ reported that the famous pair had a huge wedding at their Bel Air home. And the pictures showed an elaborate and glamorous set-up in their back garden.
So how did they do it? Well, Jennifer continues: ‘Where there’s a great will, there’s a way. It can be done.’ Sneaky.
Sources of the news outlet claim that Jennifer told her close friends, including Lisa Kudrow, Ellen DeGeneres and Howard Stern, that she was planning a massive birthday bash for her man Justin, keeping the wedding an even bigger secret.
Since then, even more details have been revealed.
Despite the fact that Jennifer chose her BFF and Friends co-star Courteney Cox to be her Maid Of Honour, it seems not all of the cast made the cut.
Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry (AKA Chandler and Joey – as if you needed reminding!) were not included on the A-list wedding guest list.
Speaking to PEOPLE, they said: “I think they’re a great couple. I think she’s happy. And that’s all I care about is that Jen’s happy,” Matt told the publication at a Television Critics Association press event in LA. “If she wanted me there, I would have been there.”
Howard Stern has also spilled some serious secrets surrounding the big day.
The radio and TV personality revealed that he gave a speech at the event. Speaking on his own radio show Sirius XM, he told of how he sat with Orlando Bloom. And that wasn’t all: “I run to Orlando and say, ‘Orlando, first dance?’ So Orlando grabbed me so tight, I thought my bones were going to break.”
We’re just slightly jealous over here.
There were a lot of details that prove just how finely planned Jen’s big day was. Forget any kind of bog-standard birthday cake – this one was made up of a PAIR of muppet characters. Oh, too cute.
She previously opened up to InStyle magazine about their engagement, saying: ‘There’s a big discussion in our house right now: Do you just do it and say screw it? Or do you try desperately to get away with [a secret ceremony] where you don’t have any fun because you’re hiding in a cave somewhere?”
We’re left dreaming of Jen in a gorgeous white wedding dress…
