It’s safe to say that last week wasn’t the easiest for Jesy Nelson.
The 24-year-old fell ill on Thursday, leading Little Mix to cancel both their matinee and evening Get Weird tour dates in Belfast.
They made their announcement on Twitter, posting a photo of an iPhone note alongside the caption: ‘A message from Little Mix #GetWeirdTourBelfast LM HQ x.’
The message read: ‘Little Mix have unfortunately had to cancel both of their Arena shows in Belfast today.
‘Sadly Jesy is unwell and unable to sing, and as a result both the matinee and evening shows are cancelled. Little Mix would like to apologise to their fans.’
Then a heartbreaking fan video emerged, which showed Jesy breaking down on stage just hours beforehand.
Thankfully, the majority of Mixers seemed sympathetic. In fact, they even managed to get the hashtag #GetWellSoonJesy trending.
But she also received some vile comments from trolls, who told her to ‘go kill your f***ing self’ and ‘die now’.
One particular Instagram photo seemed to be getting targeted, with one angry follower repeatedly making cruel jibes about her weight.
Horrible. But after all that, Jesy seems to be feeling positive.
She’s now rejoined her bandmates, with the girls taking to the stage in Sheffield in a much-praised show on Saturday night.
The Romford-born star also Tweeted: ‘Thanks so much for all your lovely messages! Im starting to feel much better. Looking forward to seeing your gorgeous faces on tour xjesyx.’
Oh. And if you missed out in Belfast, don’t worry! The ladies have rescheduled for 2 July.
Phew. Let’s hope everyone can move on, yeah?
