Jennifer Lawrence may be known for her dry sense of humour – but it’s landed her in a teeny bit of trouble.
The 25-year-old ended up ruffling a few feathers when she appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday night. Eek.
The quip that caused controversy was related to Lindsay Lohan, who (as we know) has struggled with substance addiction in the past.
Talking about her hectic film schedule, J-Law said: ‘I puked yesterday. I’m a puker. I’m a big-time puker. I think I have, like, nervous… I think that I don’t stop working, because I’m a show pony.
‘I don’t have a choice. So, I just keep going, I think, until eventually my body’s just like: “If we don’t make her barf or pass out, she won’t stop.”‘
She then joked: ‘I get, like, Lindsay Lohan grade exhaustion, but without any drugs or alcohol. I’m always in bed early, but I’m still tired.’
While the audience laughed appreciatively, there was a rather different reaction when Lindsay’s younger sister Ali heard about what had happened.
The 21-year-old Tweeted: ‘I never breathe life into negativity but I stand by my family. Disappointed in Jennifer Lawrence. You lost a fan. @lindsaylohan.’
Lindsay, 29, clearly appreciated her sister’s gesture, replying: ‘@aliana thank you sister.. Maybe who you’re referring to should learn to support others like #mayaangelou.’
She also posted a meme which featured words by author, poet and civil activist Maya, who passed away aged 86 in 2014.
This read: ‘You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, but still, like air, I’ll rise.’
Jennifer is yet to respond to the Lohans, but let’s hope they can patch things up.
