Sad news for Jennifer Aniston today, as it’s been revealed that her mother has passed, aged 79.
The former Friends actress released a statement yesterday to confirm the heartbreaking news, which read:
‘It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our Mother Nancy Dow. She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness.
‘We ask that our family’s privacy be respected as we grieve our loss.’
Jen’s mum was former actress Nancy Dow, and she is sadit to have been rushed to hospital on Sunday evening after suffering from a long illness and a series of strokes, according to In Touch.
Aniston had a notoriously tricky relationship with her mum, but is thought to have visited her for the first time in five years earlier this month.
Nancy famous published a tell-all book about her daughter back in 2009, called From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir, which centred on Jen’s life.
And Jennifer has always been honest about how her mother was ‘critical’ of her.
‘She was critical. She was very critical of me’, the 47-year-old said last year.
‘Because she was a model, she was gorgeous, stunning. I wasn’t. I never was. I honestly still don’t think of myself in that sort of light, which is fine.
‘There are people in my life that are like, “How do you even talk to that guy?” But what’s the point of holding on to [anger]? That’s so toxic.’
Whatever their relationship was, our hearts go out to Jen and her family at this difficult time. Sending all our love.
