A whole 22 years after her role as Janice, the actress behind the sitcom icon has hit the UK to promote FriendsFest. And social media went into meltdown...
OH. MY. GOD.
If you *were (*are) a fan of Friends, you would have only been able to read that catchphrase in one voice.
Why? Well, because Maggie Wheeler took those words and made them all her own. Or, Janice’s, to be more precise.
Yup. We all remember Chandler Bing’s numerous love affairs with this louder-than-life character.
And you’ll also remember that she had a habit of popping up at the, errr, most inappropriate times…
We had Rachel’s seemingly everlasting labour and the gate-crashing of Monica and Chandler’s house-hunt, to name just a few.
Maggie, now 55-years-old, took to the famous sofa on This Morning alongside presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford to talk all things FriendsFest.
Viewers at home reacted to the sitcom icon in a big way – and some were quick to point out just how different she sounds when she’s not taking on the voice that made Chandler’s balls jump back up inside his body (thanks, Monica).
During her interview, Maggie was more than happy to do that laugh, before explaining where it actually came from.
She explained that she’d came up with it during the very first rehearsal of the now-famous show: ‘I knew Matthew Perry [Chandler Bing] was going to make me laugh on set, so I had to be prepared. I came up with the laugh as a sort of safety measure.’
We’ll be meeting with Janice herself (sorry, Maggie, we just can’t help it) this afternoon, so be sure to add us on Snapchat – lookmagazineuk – to get in on the action.
