An Instagram Video Has Caused Fans To Question Whether TOWIE Is ‘Staged’

The Essex gang are filming the new series in Marbella. But a fan video has surfaced...

We’re pretty excited to see that The Only Way Is Essex crew are off filming their new series in Marbella. Not long to go now, guys.

ITVBe favourites Megan McKenna, Lydia Rose Bright and Georgia Kousoulou are amongst the girls filming for series nineteen, and it’s looking like there’s set to be plenty of sun, sea and dramz.

But a video has surfaced on Instagram, allegedly showing some of the Essex lot in Marbs, and it’s caused one eagle-eyed fan to call into question whether the TV show is ‘staged’.

Posting a video of what looks very much like an evening club scene – well, they do look very glam, don’t they? – the clip, which was spotted by Now, shows extras dancing, but with no music playing.

The caption reads: ‘Cannot believe #towie isn’t real and all staged ?’.

Any seasoned viewer of the show will know that we’re read a warning at the start of every episode.

You know the one we’re talking about – the tans might be real, ‘although some of what they do has been set up purely for your entertainment.’

Thanks, Denise.

Also, it could be the case that this snippet of footage was taken in-between takes.

This isn’t the first time that TOWIE has been accused of being ‘scripted’ though, with previous stars Amy Childs and Mario Falcone both speaking out on the subject in the past.

Amy, who was one of the main characters in the very first series, was adamant that ‘everyone thinks it’s scripted but it’s not at all. It’s exactly how we are.’

Mario, on the other hand, has previously ranted against the producers of the show.

Well. The only way is still Essex, as far as we’re concerned.
