Something embarrassing happened to the X Factor contestant at the weekend, as Honey G's mum speaks out about those 'fix' claims...
If there’s one thing you can rely on from an X Factor show, it’s some Honey G drama.
The 35-year-old, real name Anna Gilford, has managed to sail her way through the live episodes, despite creating a backlash on social media week after week.
Once again, the self-proclaimed rapper made it through on Sunday night’s results show, but viewers at home couldn’t control themselves when they spotted a pretty awkward blunder.
The contestant clearly decided that her good news justified a celebration, so she took to her knees for a power slide. But it looked like the material of her trousers weren’t quite built for skidding, as she soon fell forward and almost face-planted the stage.
In true Twitter style, it did not take long for the moment to spark an online discussion.
One fan wrote, ‘did anyone just see Honey G try and knee slide and fall instead 😂😂😂😂😂’.
Another tweeted, ‘Honey G can’t even fall over correctly! #XFactor #honeyg’.
The fact that the controversial act has made it one step closer to the final has, once again, fuelled the wave of ‘fix’ claims.
This topic of conversation wasn’t overshadowed by Honey G’s almost-fall. Tweets read:
Even celebrities have weighed in on the debate, with Professor Green and Lily Allen speaking out about Honey G’s continued involvement in the ITV talent competition.
Honey G’s mum, Yvonne, has broken her silence about the criticism being aimed at her daughter, insisting that she’s taking her future in music very seriously.
She explained to Mail Online, ‘Honey has always been bright and gifted, competent at sport, studies, music, anything she does.
‘It’s been her dream to become a star, not because she seeks fame but because she wants people to understand her and appreciate her music.’
Well, if there’s one thing that Honey G is doing, it’s keeping people talking.
