It’s safe to say this week hasn’t been the easiest for Holly Willoughby.
The 35-year-old was absent from yesterday’s This Morning, leaving Ruth Langsford to present alongside Phillip Schofield.
Revealing that it was a family issue that had caused her to miss the show, Holly explained that her 17-month-old son Chester had had a ‘nasty’ fall and was rushed to hospital on Sunday night.
She wrote alongside a photo of Chester in a hospital gown: ‘Thank you for all the lovely kind messages.
‘Chester is just fine and was definitely the bravest out of all of us… He received brilliant care from everyone at the #Chelseaandwestminster hospital, makes you realise again how lucky we are to have such a wonderful #nhs.’
She added: ‘Also huge thanks to @ruthlangsford for coming to the rescue and @itvthismorning for being so understanding as always!!! Xxx.’
Holly – who’s married to TV producer Dan Baldwin and also had children Harry six, and Belle, five – was back on the ITV show earlier today.
She gave as an update on Chester’s condition, telling viewers: ‘Thank you for all your messages. Chester is fine. He’s on the mend. He’s been all patched up.
‘He did give us a very scary 36 hours and not one I ever want to repeat again. But he’s fine.’
She went on to thank the hospital staff, calling them ‘just brilliant’.
‘Once he came out [of the procedure], he was sitting there, and we were watching [the show] and it was just really nice,’ continued Holly.
‘You forget how many people watch this show in different circumstances. So I just wish you all lots of love.’
Aw. Glad to hear he’s on the mend, Holly.
