There’s no denying that Gogglebox‘s Chris Steed is one of the funniest blokes on television.
The Brighton-based hairdresser is known for his witty banter with sofa-mate Stephen Webb, with their hilarious commentary often leaving us crying with laughter.
But while the 40-year-old is clearly a confident guy, there is one thing about himself that he’s not particularly happy with – his hair.
To combat this, he’s revealed that he’s had a hair transplant. And it didn’t come come cheap. In fact, it cost £10,000. Wowzers.
Chris used to wear wigs and toupees in his 20s, but explains: ‘You damage your hair gluing them on and they can have embarrassing consequences and come off at the wrong times!
‘I can remember one man almost getting the surprise of his life when it almost came off in his hand.
‘I realised the only long-term solution to my problem was a hair transplant. I was really pleased with my first procedure, and after Gogglebox became such a success I decided to have a second!
‘I am so pleased with the results and I do feel 10 years younger. I started losing my hair at a very early age and would be as bald as a coot now, just like my dad, if I had not received this help.
‘As a hairdresser, I am acutely aware of the importance of having great hair and looking good and I am so pleased that the technology is there to make a real difference to the lives of men who are losing their hair. It can be heart-breaking and shatter your self-esteem.’
So why did Chris choose now to undergo the procedure? Well, he actually has something very exciting coming up… his wedding to fiancé Tony Butland!
He says: ‘I am so excited about the wedding, it is going to be the happiest day of my life! I am thrilled that my hair will be looking good in the wedding pictures.’
Aw. Congrats, Chris!
