Sarah Jessica Parker is the latest star to step out in Burberry’s monogram blanket cape, confirming it’s THE most covetable item of autumn/winter 2014. Well in fact, it’s a must-have right now, even without the necessitating chill.
As soon as we saw Cara Delevingne and the rest of Christopher Bailey’s model army emerge on the runway in the cosy wrap-arounds, we knew they were set to be the must-have of the season, and sure enough it wasn’t long before Cara wore hers IRL. And before the autumn was anywhere near setting in, Suki Waterhouse was hot on her heels in an ‘SK’ version. Fast forward a few weeks and the trend had made it over the pond with Olivia Palermo wrapping up in NYC. And now SJP has followed suit.
The New Yorker wore her cult Burbs cape with skinny grey jeans, a chic chain bag, and added a transseasonal touch by finishing her look with peep-toe maroon heels. If you weren’t already in love with the colour block cape you will be right about now.
But if you’re not on a Burberry kinda budget, you can still get the look come pay day as we’ve hunted down cosy looking ponchos at Topshop and New Look so you can channel the folk and western vibe of the original.
