Gary Barlow has reportedly threatened to quit The X Factor following the shock results of Sunday night’s show, which saw his first act Carolynne Poole sent home.
All four judges and presenter Dermot O’Leary attended a secret meeting with producer Richard Holloway at the Mayfair Arts Club in London last night, presumably to discuss where it all went wrong on Sunday.
According to The Sun, Gary has said he’ll leave the show if it ever happens again. A source said: “Gary is fiercely proud of his reputation and signed up for the show because he wanted to nurture genuine talent. The reason he wanted to be on it was to put a stop to these tricks and to stop insulting the artists and viewers.
“The pantomime some of his fellow judges bring to the show drives him insane and he believes it undermines the credibility of the whole show. Sunday’s antics infuriated him. He was livid… If this ever happens again he is off. No questions asked.”
Carolynne was voted off after Louis chose to go to deadlock following her sing-off against Rylan Clark. But the judge had already said that he wanted to save Carolynne. Gary stormed off the stage live on TV, he was so disappointed with the decision.
Richard Holloway (in the pic below) was spotted whispering to Louis during Carolynne’s sing-off, but has insisted he didn’t tell Louis what to do.
On Monday Gary tweeted: “Been hard to get motivated today. @CarolynnePoole good luck. Anything you need I’m here.” RM
