And most importantly, why…

There’s less than a fortnight to go until London Fashion Week opens its doors to editors from all over the globe. Naturally, the Look office chat has turned to beauty.

“Fashion week can be frantic which is why it pays to be organised,” Look’s Acting Editor Maxine Eggenberger says when discussing how she preps.

“As well as planning different fashion looks I’ll wear each day, I always make sure my bag is packed with beauty essentials I can use to freshen up between shows,” she explains.

Cue the four things our ed won’t leave home without…

Face wipes
Maxine’s secret to staying fresh-faced during fashion week? “Face wipes are an absolute saviour when I’m rushed off my feet and need to refresh my make-up,” she explains. Not only are NIVEA Daily Essentials Micellar 3-in-1 Cleansing Wipes useful for doing any make-up corrections throughout the day, but they also keep skin feeling fresh.

A mini deodorant
“When you’re packing up essentials like skincare and make-up, there’s definitely one item you should NEVER forget. A mini deodorant!” she says. NIVEA Invisible Black & White Deodorant may be small enough to fit in your handbag, but it’s a powerful anti-perspirant that leaves no white marks.

Lip balm
“In the past I’ve spotted lip balms being used on cheeks as a highlighter, on lips to glisten and on brows to tame,” she explains. It’s also a total backstage winner when it comes to creating a flawlessly smooth lip before adding a statement bold colour. For this, Maxine recommends NIVEA Hydro Care Lip Balm, which she says is one of the best value options she’s found. It’s light, fast-absorbing and even contains SPF15 (just in case the winter sunshine decides to make an appearance at fashion week!).

Hand cream
“I always carry hand cream around and use it to moisture my cuticles to make sure my nails stay strong and healthy after having a manicure,” Maxine says. Right now, it’s NIVEA’s Nourishing Care Hand Cream, which is infused with almond oil that she’s using. It also just happens to be limited edition design– so grab one fast, before they’re all gone.
