Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie ‘A Long Way From Casting’ Says Author

Fifty Shades Of Grey author E.L. James has revealed that a movie adaptation of her racy novels is still a “long way off”, despite a number of high-profile actors expressing an interest in playing the role of Christian Grey.

For months now, fan sites have predicted who will play the part of bondage enthusiast and CEO Christian Grey, while the likes of Ian Somerhalder, Chace Crawford and Stephen Amell have jumped at the chance of the starring role.

But talking to Page Six in the US this week, the author admitted: “We don’t even have a filmmaker… so we are still a long way away from casting.”

Teasing the notion that fan favourites might not make the cut, she then added: “I have some ideas… but it may not be who people expect…” Uh-oh.

The writer also confirmed this week that her next novel will be “far less raunchy”.

Hmm, hurry up, producers. We need to see this film!
