Fearne Cotton rocked up to her old stomping ground of the BBC Radio One studios in West London this morning to resume her DJ duties for the first time since giving birth to son Rex. Welcome back, Fearne!
The 32-year-old mum-of-one chose an oversized striped jumper, dark stonewashed denim skinnies and a super cute socks-and-leopard-print-heels combo for her back to work outfit of choice, tweeting: “Back to work! Nice to be back at R1 HQ. Today’s sock situation. Socks for radio” along with a snap of the view from her new office.
Joining fellow R1 resident Nick Grimshaw to co-host his breakfast show this morning, today marked the first time Fearne’s been back in the studio since taking up maternity leave on Christmas Eve last year ahead of baby Rex’s birth in February.
Speaking to Grimmy, the presenter/designer gushed about her excitement at finally making her long-awaited return to radio. “It’s very exciting. Thanks for letting me be on your show the first day back. It’s a nice way to ease into the job again,” Fearne told her co-host.
Opening up about motherhood, the leggy lady added: “A small person takes up a lot of time! But it’s amazing and I loved doing it. I’ve never had time off since I was 15 so it was really nice to go, ‘I have a life without work stuff. It was brilliant but I’m ready to get back into work and I’m excited about the month we have coming up.”
Fearne also returned to her Celebrity Juice role as a panellist alongside pals Keith Lemon and Holly Willoughby last week – we’re loving having her back on both our screens and speakers!
Catch Fearne presenting her usual Radio One morning slot of 10am to 12:45pm from tomorrow.
