Bey shocked and delighted fans by releasing a surprise album on iTunes last night

Beyoncé’s Shock Surprise Causes Internet Meltdown

Beyoncé dropped a surprise album on iTunes last night totally out-of-the-blue, causing a tidal wive of fan hysteria and sending pretty much the entire world wide web into pandemonium.

Titled ‘Beyoncé‘, the 14-track offering marks the superstar’s fifth album and features a whole host of huge names including hubby Jay-Z, Drake, Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, and even daughter Blue Ivy. YES YOU HEARD US RIGHT.

Every song on the new album even comes with its own music video (when has she had the time?!), featuring sultry cage dancing for Jay, disco-tastic rollerrinks, superglam beauty pageants and one insanely killer wardrobe. Ah-mazing.

From the wildy excited Twitter reaction and the fact that her Tumblr site has temporarily crashed, it looks like Bey’s brilliant bombshell has firmly made her fans’ Christmas.

‘I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it,’ Beyoncé said in a press release provided shortly after the album hit iTunes. ‘I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans.’

‘There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.’

Apparently, Bey started recording her new songs over a year and a half ago and just did an amazing job of keeping schtum. ‘I just want to give my album to the people I love and respect and hope that they feel the same thing I felt when I made the music,’ she added.

We’ve had a listen, and can safely say it’s one of her best yet. Check out a cheeky clip of Bey and Jay’s oh-so-sexy duet Drunk In Love below…
