Ellie Goulding is one very busy lady. Kicking off her six-month world tour earlier this month. Rumours of rekindling her two-year relationship with Dougie Poynter. A new make-up collaboration with MAC. Oh, and she still manages to work into her schedule weekly boxing sessions too…naturally.
Despite the 29-year old singer and superwoman having every reason to suffer a bout of stress here and there, she never shows any signs of it on her face. Yes, while we may still be suffering from the annual skin treat of winter flare-ups, flaky skin and dullness, Miss Goulding’s skin always manages to look flawless 24-7.
And now, in a revealing new interview with the New York Times, Ellie has spilled her ultimate beauty routine and go-to products for us all to try out stat…
To Get The Ellie Goulding Glow
The Love Me Like You Do singer swears by cult-favourite Pixi Glow Tonic. “I usually shower in the morning, and then I use a toner,” she says. “Then I usually use a Rodial serum.” And forget about spending too much £££ on luxe cleansers – instead she opts for Bioderma Sensibio H2O (from £5.00). But if you’re skin is a tad on the pasty side and want a bit more colour (I mean, it is January), Ellie’s a fan of faking it. “I love being tan,” she says. “I like James Read, and the best one is the Express Glow mask. The color develops very quickly so you don’t somehow end up darker than you wanted to be in the middle of the day.”
Her 5 Minute Make-up Trick
When off-duty Ellie likes to keep her make-up more muted. “I tend to keep a pretty natural look,” she says. “I like the idea of a compact because it fits my lifestyle. You put it on in the morning, then you take it with you. I’ve been using the MAC Halcyon Days one.” She admits she tends to go for Sisley brow pencils and Charlotte Tilbury lip stick in Bitch Perfect (a pink nude) for the ultimate day look.
The Boyfriend Fragrance
“I wear one by Christian Dior called Gris Montaigne. It’s lovely but also unisex,” she says. “Another one I like is Black Opium by YSL. It’s so beautiful. I understand why it’s a best seller. That’s one I wear in the evening.”
Ellie’s Hair Care Saviours
Hallelujah! Even Ellie suffers bad-hair days. “Around the time I was promoting my album in New York, my hair was the best it has been,” she says. “Then recently I had a hair disaster and ended up having to cut it really short.” She reveals using Kerastase volumizing shampoo and conditioner and use Repair Rescue Sealed Ends by Swarzkopf during the dreaded ‘growing out’ period…with a little extra help. “I’m not afraid of admitting I use extensions,” she says. “That’s what I do, and that’s what a lot of girls do. I find it fun.”
