Uh-oh. EastEnders is in big trouble with some of its viewers.
As we all know, the end of the show and that famous doof-doof is the most important part of any ‘Enders episode.
So understandably, fans were pretty annoyed when last night’s programme cut off in the last few seconds – and was replaced by a red error screen.
Tweets included: ‘Arghhh!! Missed the doof doof on #Eastenders due to a technical glitch on @BBCOne,’ and: ‘Did anyone else get that red screen on Eastenders or is my TV just fried?’
A particularly angry Tweeter wrote: ‘Is @BBC taking the p**s!! Towards the ending of EastEnders fix up with your screens #wtf #redscreen.’
EastEnders didn’t seem to pick up on the issue, Tweeting after the credits: ‘That’s it for tonight but we are, of course, back tomorrow on @BBCOne at 8pm. See you there. #EastEnders.’
And unfortunately, this only aggravated people further. One said: ‘No apology for the signal issue whatsoever @BBCOne @bbceastenders #EastEnders.’
TBH, it was pretty bad timing. The red screen came at the climax of a very emotional episode, which saw Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) and Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel) prepare to leave Albert Square.
It was a moving evening for all, especially their families. Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) was in tears as Nancy bid goodbye to her baby brother Ollie.
Then she and Tamwar were left dumbfounded when his dad Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) dropped the bombshell that he planned to join them on their backpacking tour. Er.
We can only imagine what’ll happen on tonight’s show…
