Davina McCall will take over hosting duties this week
The majority of the country may be back at work, but Holly Willoughby is still sunning herself on holiday. Jeal.
The 35-year-old, her hubby Dan Baldwin and their three children are currently in the Caribbean, meaning her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield has had to go back to the sofa without her.
Yep. For the rest of the week, Holly will be replaced by Davina McCall, who revealed the news on Twitter this morning.
But unfortunately for the 49-year-old, it hasn’t been the easiest job so far. She told fans at 7am: ‘Covering for my @hollywills for three days with @Schofe (brace yourself! 😉) trains up the swanny…. not a good start to my first day!!!
‘I live in the country x on my way now .. managed to get a train in x not where I wanted 2.’
Phillip, 54, clearly sympathised, as he Tweeted: ‘See you soon @ThisisDavina 😊😊.’ She simply replied: ‘@Schofe xxxxxx.’
Holly’s absence has actually proved pretty controversial among This Morning viewers.
Tweets include: ‘What? Holly not had enough time off over xmas. 🙄 #ThisMorning,’ ‘Holly can’t even be arsed to turn up for work this week 🙄 #PartTimer #ThisMorning,’ and: ‘Um… holly come back?? #ThisMorning.’
Um. A little harsh, no? Everyone’s allowed their fair share of time off.
Luckily, others have been a little more positive about the change of host. One wrote: ‘Ooooo I love Davina! Sorry Holly #ThisMorning,’ while another said: ‘QUEEN DAVINA #THISMORNING.’
As for us? We think Davina’s a great replacement for a few days. Hope you have an easier journey tomorrow, lady!
