David Schwimmer To Star In A British Sitcom

Yep, eleven years since Friends ended (sob) Ross, sorry David Schwimmer, is returning to our telly screens once again. But this time across the pond!

He’s set to star in British sitcom – Morning Has Broken – with the equally hilarious Gavin and Stacey actress Julia Davis, who has penned the script with fellow cast member Nick Mohammed (from Miranda).

Morning Has Broken will be a six-part series on Channel 4, seeing the 48-year-old actor play a US producer brought in to save flailing breakfast TV show Good Morning… With Gail Sinclair (played by Julia). And will know that echo similarities between real-life doomed daytime television show – Daybreak – which was cancelled in 2014.

We can’t wait to see Julia take on the role as the self-proclaimed “Queen of Daytime TV”, and David is equally excited to be working with her.

“I’ve been a massive fan of Julia’s for years” said Schwimmer, “and I’m thrilled to be able to finally work with her and Nick on this fantastic comedy.”

Julia Davis stars and has co-written the script for ‘Morning Has Broken’

Although this is not the first time he’s been on British TV as he filmed a hilarious cameo in comedy ‘Come Fly With Me’, with Matt Lucas and David Walliams. And lets not forget his directional debut in Brit comedy Run Fatboy Run, in 2007.

And even his wife, Zoe Buckman, 30, is British herself, who he met in a bar when he was filming Run Fatboy Run. Buckman, an artist and photographer, married David in June 2010, after three years of dating, and have a four-year old together called Cleo.

We wonder if he’s been asking his former Friend’s costar Matt LeBlanc for advice? As Matt also stars in the hugely successful British sitcom Episodes, where he plays a parody version of himself.

Although excited fans will have to wait until 2016, when it’s scheduled to air. We. Can’t. Wait.
