Claire Danes’ Light-Up MET Gala Dress = The Coolest Thing

If you want to know which 2016 MET Gala dress was the most fun to wear, just ask Claire Danes.

The 37-year-old Homeland star chose Zac Posen to design her gown for the evening, and let’s just say they took the tech-theme pretty literally.

Anna Wintour chose a Manus x Machina theme for the MET Gala this year, with many celebrities opting for futuristic, metallic frocks and edgy make-up.

But Claire pulled out all the stops when she turned up to the red carpet in New York in a custom-made Zac Posen gown that at first glance, looked alot like a pretty Cinderella-style dress.

But it was hiding a secret. Because as soon as Claire stepped into the shadows, her ballgown lit up like magic and made every head turn in the room. AMAZING.

‘I feel pretty amazing, it’s just a work of art’, Claire told E News about her breathtaking red carpet creation. ‘It’s a privilege to carry this thing around.’

After Zac piped up that it was lined with fiber optics, which allowed Danes to glow in the dark, the actress added: ‘My three year old son was pretty stoked.’ We can imagine.

Zac later got busy sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes pictures of the dress on Instagram to illustrate just how cool the frock looked on the dancefloor…

*Sigh*. We need more pals with epic dress-making skills, we think.
