If you don’t, check it out on YouTube RIGHT NOW. Because it was pretty amazing.
As we all know, Kanye stirred up a whole load of controversy when his song Famous was played at his New York Fashion Week show a few days before the ceremony, featuring two lines that seemed to be about Taylor.
These were: ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous’. Hmmm.
But the 26-year-old singer seemed to get her own back with her acceptance speech for the Album Of The Year award.
She began by telling the audience: ‘I want to thank fans for the last ten years and the Recording Academy for giving us this unbelievable honour.’
Then came the clanger.
With her voice cracking, Taylor said: ‘And as the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.
‘But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.’
As expected, most people were impressed by her rousing speech. But there was one person who felt a little awkward about the whole thing.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are friends with both Taylor and Kanye, and when Chrissy appeared on US show Watch What Happens Live this week, she admitted that it was a little difficult to watch.
She said: ‘Oh man, see, it’s tough when you’re put in the middle like that. I didn’t get to see it live, but I don’t know. It’s so awkward. It’s an uncomfortable moment. It’s weird. John and I were very uncomfortable by it.’
And Chrissy reckons the feud is still in full swing, continuing: ‘It’s not over. This is going to go on. This is being waged.’
Eek. We’re a tad scared to see what’ll happen next…
