Chrissy Teigen has to be one of the realest ladies in Hollywood – and that definitely applies when it comes to motherhood.
Since the 30-year-old gave birth to her and husband John Legend’s daughter Luna earlier this month, she’s been open about some of the side effects of motherhood.
In true Chrissy-style, the Sports Illustrated beauty recently opened up something largely unspoken… ie. postpartum incontinence.
Just a week after giving birth, she Tweeted: ‘No one told me i would be coming home in diapers too.’
Pregnancy weakens many women’s pelvic floor and abdominal muscles, giving them less control over their bladders, so Chrissy’s definitely not alone.
She didn’t stop there, either. The mum-of-one later shared a picture of the ‘push present’ she was thinking of buying for herself – a perineal irrigation bottle. Yep.
As SELF magazine explains, this is used by some women instead of toilet paper to ‘clean themselves’ after going to the loo.
This is because if you had a tear when giving birth, it can burn when you pee, so the bottle is used to squirt warm water to dilute it and lessen the pain.
Now Chrissy’s got honest about her skin, captioning a make-up free Snapchat photo yesterday: ‘Goodbye pregnancy glow. Hi itchy red spots.’
Personally, we think Chrissy still looks lovely au naturel. But it’s great that she’s so open and honest about not being flawless 24/7.
And fans can’t help but praise her attitude on Twitter, with messages including: ‘Your new “keeping it real about motherhood” feed has been making my week,’ and: ‘I love your real tweets.’
We second that one, lady.
