Cheryl Cole has been lying low since Girls Aloud’s shock split announcement last week and it sounds like we won’t be seeing the star on the showbiz circuit anytime soon.
A source told yesterday’s Sunday Mirror paper that Cheryl plans to take a break from singing and won’t be signing up to the UK – or the US – series of The X Factor.
They said: “Cheryl’s a trouper when it comes to her work commitments and loves nothing more than making music and getting up on stage. But she feels now that she needs a break and an opportunity to recharge her batteries as she’s barely had any time off.
“From the moment she released Call My Name in May 2012 she was thrown back into promotional duties and toured third album A Million Lights around the UK and Ireland in October.
“Then after a three-year hiatus Cheryl rejoined Girls Aloud in November. Now the tour has finished Cheryl’s planning to take time out and disappear from the limelight.”
Oh, maaaan. Just when we were getting used to having her back in the spotlight, too. The star awoke from a mammoth nap on Saturday and tweeted to say: “Have just woken up!! This is the first time I have slept for more then 2 hrs in 4 days and I still don’t feel human lol!
“Thank you so much for all your kind words, respect and well wishes.. I’m gonna take some time now to rest and recover !! I need some doggy love, family ,friends & loved ones ! Just wanted to say thank you i love you and ill be back soon. ❤”
Enjoy your hibernation, Chez. Hurry back! RM
