The 32-year-old said he'd 'been through a lot' as he picked up his gong...
Calvin Harris had a pretty successful evening yesterday.
The 32-year-old DJ headed to the GQ Men Of The Year Awards, where he picked up the Patron Solo Artist Of The Year gong.
He was presented with the award by his friend and collaborator Ellie Goulding. And his speech was pretty interesting.
Calv joked: ‘I feel at 32 I’m nearing the end. Just kidding,’ before continuing: ‘This week 10 years ago was when I left Marks & Spencer Simply Food in Clapham South, where I carried out such tasks as date-rotating sandwiches and moving the salmon.
‘I’d like to dedicate this to my manager Mark Gillespie for being a fantastic man. We’ve been through a lot and discovered a lot this year.’
Hmm. Could this last point have been a sly dig at his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift?
The pair ended their two-year relationship back in June, after which T-Swizzle embarked on a whirlwind romance with actor Tom Hiddleston.
Unfortunately for Hiddleswift, they’re now reported to have finished things. We wonder if Calvin had read about this before taking to the stage…
Whatever the case, Calv looked super-dapper in a black three-piece suit.
He posed with Ellie, 29, after scooping his prize, who was stunning in a quirky off-the-shoulder creation.
Her pink mini featured feather and floral embellishments, and she’d paired it with silver block heels.
When it came to her beauty look, she’d opted for a simple tousled ‘do, nude lips and lashings of highlighter. Just beaut.
