Remember when we thought The Hills was totally real? Well, that’s all come crashing down again, breaking our hearts in the process. Fresh from the news that Brody Jenner and Lauren Conrad weren’t even a couple, it’s now been revealed that BFF’s Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag didn’t even like each other! What?!
Heidi dished the dirt to US Weekly on what was really going on behind the scenes during their friendship. “It was literally my job to deal with her, and it wasn’t pleasant,” she said of the time. “The fact is, she lied about me and tried to destroy my life, yet I was the one who was painted as the bad guy so the show could have her as a good guy.” Umm, ouch!
She also went on to say she was just telling all of this now, to move on with her life. “I don’t wish her any ill will but I don’t have to lie for her or play along with her storyline as part of my job anymore,” she added. “I was pretending to be someone I wasn’t for those years I was on the show so I’ve just decided that I am never going to be anything but honest.”
We appreciate that Heidi, but also, we kinda want to close our ears to all this chat about our fave show! Especially after Brody revealed he was ‘just friends’ with Lauren…
‘Lauren is a dear friend of mine and it was pretty funny having to live that reality,” he said. “We would literally film a scene of us kissing… and right after it would be like, ‘Cut!’ And right after it’d be like, ‘Hey, it’s good to see you,’ and then we’d go our separate ways.’
Brody went as far as to reveal he hadn’t actually hooked up with any of his co-stars while filming and the hardest thing was ‘not being able to say, ‘I didn’t screw every single girl on the show. I didn’t have sex with Jen Bunny, I didn’t hook up with Audrina…And then you get all these people saying, ‘Oh he’s a male whore, he sleeps with all of these girls,’ when in actuality, I didn’t do that.’
In fact, the only real romance was that of Brody and Kristin Cavallari, 28, but even that happened prior to her being on the show and the reconciliation was fabricated.
So as it turns out, perhaps Brody wasn’t the playboy we all thought he was. So are there any more revelations about The Hills to come? Brody confirmed that his long-time friend, and our favourite villain, Spencer Pratt, 31, planned out all of his mischief before hand, in an attempt to become the shows biggest baddie. Brody revealed, “He scripted out all those moments... He created all that drama…but then it caught up to him.”
So with that, the memory of our favourite guilty pleasure has officially been ruined but on a brighter note Brody might be hot and nice? Every cloud.
