It’s safe to say that Brie Larson had a pretty amazing night at the Oscars.
Bagging one of the most prestigious awards in the industry, the 26-year-old was named Best Actress for her role as Ma in Room.
Room tells the story of a kidnap victim who lives in a squalid shed with her five-year-old son Jack. It’s an emotional and gritty offering, and marks Brie’s stand-out role of her career.
Brie looked incredible as she arrived on the red carpet in a cobalt blue gown, which featured a dramatic ruffled train and a plunging neckline.
She’d accessorised with pearl earrings and an embellished belt, which matched the intricate beaded clip holding her hair in a wavy half up-half down ‘do.
When it came to her make-up, she’d opted for a colour popping pink lip, girlie blush and a subtle smoky eye. Beaut.
Despite looking stunning in front of the cameras, Brie was actually hiding something a teeny bit unpleasant.
She told ABC’s Robin Roberts that she was running on ’15 hours of jet lag’ after returning from a trip to Vietnam. Ouch.
Brie made no mention of this jet lag when she picked up her gong, beginning her speech by thanking the Telluride Film Festival before moving on to thank her nine-year-old co-star Jacob Tremblay.
She also honoured her partner Alex Greenwald before emotionally gushing: ‘Thank you to the moviegoers. Thank you for going to the theatres and seeing our films.’
Aw. Congratulations, Brie!
