The FBI has released a statement about Brad Pitt following reports he got 'verbally abusive' on a flight with one of his and Angelina's children...
Brad Pitt is reportedly being investigated by the FBI after that alleged plane incident.
According to TMZ, the 52-year-old got ‘verbally abusive’ with one of his and Angelina’s children on their private plane. Their other kids were present at the time.
Once the flight had landed, he ‘continued his rant on the tarmac’. He’d reportedly been drinking, and it was someone either onboard the plane or on the ground who anonymously contacted the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services, says a source.
The alleged incident – said to have occurred last Wednesday – was apparently what prompted Angelina to split with him the next day, and then file for divorce.
And now, the FBI are allegedly examining the claims, because the incident is said to have happened in the air.
A statement from the FBI reads: ‘In response to your inquiry regarding allegations within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States; specifically, an aircraft carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued.’
Previously, it was reported that the LAPD would be looking into the claims, but since the alleged altercation happened in the air, it’s now up the FBI to investigate.
A source close to Brad has said that he isn’t taking the allegations lightly, stating: ‘He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children.
‘It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.’
Neither Brad nor Angelina have commented on the allegations. When Ange filed for divorce, she cited irreconcilable differences.
She has also requested custody of the couple’s six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight.
