Guys. Beyonce’s dad says he knows what Lemonade is about.
Beyonce’s had everyone guessing with her suggestive lyrics about infidelity since she released her brand new album earlier this week. Did Jay Z cheat? Was Rita Ora involved? Just, SO MANY QUESTIONS.
But now, Matthew Knowles is here to clear things up once and for all. Here’s what he said about the cryptic lyrics.
‘Let me tell you who she’s talking about, can I tell you who she’s talking about? She’s talking about you,’ he told E! News. ‘You put that in context for you personally. She’s talking about you and everybody that is you, that’s who she’s talking about.’
Erm, okay? We’re not going to lie, we’re still none the wiser as to who Bey is actually talking about. But Matthew wasn’t ready to say the lyrics weren’t autobiographical, so we guess that’s something.
‘I think that’s the beauty of her creativity and I think that’s what makes it so special, is that it relates to everyone,’ he continued. ‘Every one of us have been disappointed before and have had to go through the grieving process of anger and, you know, disappointment and then acceptance and forgiveness.’
‘And I think that’s why this again is touching so many people, because it’s universal. Everybody can relate to it.’
Hmm. What anger and disappointment could he be referring to, we wonder?
Bey’s mum, Tina Knowles, has also played her part in the Lemonade discussion by commenting on her daughter’s new album after its HBO release.
‘It was soo important to her to offer something that would bring about healing and hope to the universe!’ Tina posted on social media, suggesting that Bey might have been through something tough.
‘No matter what you’ve gone thru in life you can always come out on the other side!’
Hmm. Looks like even Bey’s family is keen to keep us guessing, then…
