Backstreet Boys have been body-popping, riffing and making girls weak at the knees for a grand total of 20 years now (hands up who feels old!?) and to celebrate, the fivesome are releasing a brand new album today.
90s heartthrobs AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell are sealing their legendary boyband status with their 8th studio album In A World Like This, available on iTunes right now!
But if you’re hoping for a dance remix of Larger Than Life, or a teenage pop ballad like As Long As You Love Me, you can think again. Howie D, who’s now married with two children, told Rolling Stone: “Fans can expect to hear the group dealing with subject matter reflective of where the five men are at in their daily lives. It’s just a natural evolution. We’re all older, a lot of us are fathers. We’re wanting to make this record a lot more personal.”
Songs about nappies and taking out the bins then? Or maybe they’ll have written a track about rejecting Ryan Gosling from the band (this really happened, honest). Whatever BSB decide to sing about, the 13-year-old girls inside us want to have a listen.
And whilst we’ve got our nostalgic hats on, we thought what better way to celebrate their two decades of stardom (and the fact we still sort of fancy them) than with a look back at the top 10 boyband crushes you just can’t shake.
There will be one in there for you, whether you care to admit it or not (ahem, Matt from Busted)…
