Alexa Chung combined sixties boho with masculine tailoring in spectacular style when she got her glad rags on for the Orla Kiely for Target preview party in New York.
The stylish presenter rocked up to the celebrity-packed fashion launch looking like a modern Marianna Faithfull in her retro get-up, working a dotty blue short suit with a lace trimmed white blouse and floppy black-and-white hat.
Style chameleon Chung finished off her chic sixties ensemble with a pair of square toe black wedges and a nude lip. We’re totally loving Alexa’s androgynous Austin Powers look, and as Rihanna knows – short suits are the go-to look this summer.
The 29-year-old, who has just landed a brand new presenting gig fronting US music show Fuse News, recently gushed about her love of sixties style in an interview with Vogue. “I’m definitely focused on the sixties, that music scene”, Alexa admitted.
“I play different characters and that’s why I like clothes. If I need to be strong then I wear more masculine, tailored things, whereas if I’m feeling more feminine and girly, it’s nice to wear a dress. It really is that simple”, she added.
If only possessing those pins were really that simple. Sigh…
