It’s safe to say that this weekend’s X Factor was bursting with drama.
On Saturday night, viewers were left worried and concerned after one of this year’s contestants was taken ill on stage during the live show.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini‘s girl group 4th Impact gave one of their energetic performances, taking on Beyonce’s Work It Out for movie week.
But the audience was left shocked and concerned as one of the foursome appeared to feel faint, before a member of the ITV crew rushed on stage to assist her.

It had been explained that 4th Impact singer Celina Cercado had collapsed backstage prior to their big stage moment.
Ever the protective mentor, Cheryl explained what had happened earlier that day, revealing that they almost didn’t perform during the live show: ‘I’ve offered them the opportunity to not perform and play the dress run but they have insisted on performing.’
A spokesperson from the show said: ‘Celina fainted earlier before her performance. An ambulance was called and she was checked by a medic who said she was OK to perform.’
Celina wanted to perform alongside her sisters, and there was no sign of anything being wrong until she came over faint just as their routine finished.
Simon Cowell was quick to stand up and check on Celina, telling her to leave the stage, but she seemed determined to stay with the rest of her group.
Presenter Olly then called out for a crew member to bring out a chair, so that Celina could sit down with some water to hear the judges comments. Naturally, they all championed her for her professionalism.
Simon showed his sincere concern, saying: ‘under the circumstances that was the most incredible things we have ever seen on this show.’
‘You forget the pressure and particularly with what’s happened today to you lot, it was outstandingly good and I hope you’re okay, sweetheart.’
A spokesperson for the ITV show has revealed that she was later checked over once again by a doctor, ‘as a precaution’.
Taking to the band’s official Twitter account, Celina posted the following message: ‘1st of all I want to thank God for giving me the strength to perform last night. Thank you all for praying for me! Feeling better now – Cel’.
We’re so happy to hear that, girls.
