What successful people wear on business trips

Business trips are a pretty good deal. Comfy hotel? Exotic adventure? First class flight? Who could refuse. However, remember that you’re still travelling in the name of work. Don’t let your wardrobe slip into holiday mode.

On the flight itself you need to be comfortable, yet also smart enough for meeting clients or colleagues when you arrive. Who better to show us how to travel stylishly than supermodel and veteran jet-setter Rosie Huntington-Whiteley? Upon arrival at an airport she is often dashing off to a film set, photoshoot or even boardroom.

Here’s how to nail airport style like a pro.

1. A cashmere jumper

You can never go wrong with cashmere, let alone when wanting to look comfortable and sophisticated. Wear with smart trousers and heels for a smart business look when you land. Check out M&S for their huge selection of cashmere.

2. A blazer

A blazer really is the smartest garment a woman can own. Take it on the flight with you, but ask a flight attendant to hang it up for you when on board to stop it from creasing. You will look super-presentable when you land and rush off to a meeting. Over black trousers and a basic t-shirt, a blazer will elevate your outfit and make it work-appropriate. Check out Mango‘s selection of on-budget blazers.

3. A statement fedora

The make-up you wear on a business trip needs to be natural-looking but also polished. A big fedora hat means you can head to the airport bare-faced and then do your make-up on the plane. The result? You will land looking perfectly made up. Rosie’s fedora is Maison Michel, but Urban Outfitters are doing some great alternatives right now.

4. A blouse

A shirt can easily get crumpled on long journeys, so a blouse is a perfect alternative if you pick one in a light and non-starchy material. Rosie looks chic in this billowing blouse tucked into trousers. Head to La Redoute for some lovely cotton blouses – just make sure that they are smart and not too summery.
