TheMondayKickstart: Codeybot – the robot that will teach you to code (and be your best friend)

Another Monday, another moment to reflect on the awesome happenings in the world of Crowdfunding. TheMondayKickstart is dedicated to unearthing the best products, apps, ideas and innovations that are looking for funding. This week we’re going in-depth into the robot that will change the way generations learn to code, Codeybot!

Just when you thought technology had gone too far, those eggheads in their labs create a robot so friendly and useful, you can’t help but love it. The robot is the educational companion we all wish we had as youths – and it appears to have enough funding to become a reality.

Looking like an alarm clock crossed with one of those Roomba hoovers, Codeybot teaches the basics of programming through an LED screen and motorised wheels that can be programmed from the Codeybot app on a phone or tablet.

Perfect for both coding beginners and kids, Codeybot comes with it’s own internal programming language meaning that you can experiment as much as you want without the fear of turning him into a killing machine or a useless white brick (it must be said, however, that Codeybot does come with a ‘battle mode’ – we’re concerned and excited).

His features include total self-balance, customisable faces, bluetooth speakers, dancing, voice control and full app control.

We have emphasised repeatedly how useful coding is for the both your current career and the career of the future. Codeybot is $12,500 above it’s pledge goal and should retail around £100 making it an entertaining and labour-free way of teaching yourself the basics of programming logic.
