Taj Mahal? Machu Picchu? Which travel destination ranks top

Travel experts at Lonely Planet have voted on the world’s most amazing travel sites, putting out an official ranking for the first time.

The list was published ahead of the release of their new book, Ultimate Travelist, which ranks the 500 most memorable places on the planet.

Many of the top 10 are what you would expect, like the Great Wall and the Grand Canyon. Some, like number nine, are a bit less well-trodden.
