Is YOUR life on the right track? Find out here

None of us can predict the future. Looking wistfully into a crystal ball isn’t going to tell you what to do with your life. It sometimes appears as though everyone else has got it all worked out, but you should concentrate on doing the things that will make you happiest.

Whether you have just finished school or uni, or are thinking about changing jobs, ask yourself these four questions to find out if you are on the right track in life.

1. Am I doing what I enjoy?

Doing what you enjoy AND what you are good at are usually the same thing. If you are not doing what you are good at then you are not as likely to succeed – try something different. If you aren’t enjoying what you are doing you are also less likely to succeed. Whether you are working, studying or travelling, make sure that you are having fun, and getting the most out of it.

2. Am I learning?

We all want to be surrounded by people that make us laugh, but it’s also important to surround ourselves with people we can learn from. Some of the most successful people in the world thank mentors for helping them get to where they are. If you don’t think you are learning from the job you are in, or from the people around you, then you should consider making changes.

3. Am I wasting time?

If you find yourself procrastinating all the time then you may need to rethink the path that you are on. Take up a new hobby, look for a new job, consider doing further education – something that will keep your mind stimulated. If you do that then opportunities will come along and you will know that your life is heading down a good path.

4. Am I following my ego or am I following my heart?

Sometimes it is hard to know whether we are doing things because we think they are right, or because our ego is making us. Don’t let your ego or a need to impress others cloud your judgement. Are you only in this new relationship because you want to show your ex that you have moved on? Are you only doing the job that you are doing to please your family? Follow your heart instead of your ego. Do what is best for you and you will know that you are on the right track.

Now what?
